Korea trip - Year 2008

  1. Hamilton Hotel (where we stayed)

It was a short company trip with around eleven of us.  We left on 29th May and returned on 1st June.  We didn't cover much of the places that we'd wanted to visit because of the short span of time. However, we managed to visit some of the interesting places eg DMZ, temples, ginseng mart,
Dongdaemun  market and Namdaemun Market.

These were the shops around the hotel (Hamilton Hotel) for quick shopping!

Part of the DMZ tour where we can only take a glance at the boundary dividing North & South Korea. (No photo shoots are allowed in the DMZ tunnel!)

Shopping at the Namdaemen market in the night........

Temples at the top of the hill with many steps to climb - making us very tiring and breathless!  But the air was fresh and there's a water well with clear water which was drinkable!

aunty selling nymphs along way, it looked disgusting and nobody dared to try!

Poor Irene, look how breathless she is!

During the journey, we discovered how the Ginsengs planted - covered with mesh, isn't it amazing?
Nice, big strawberries - selling cheaply- only 14000 won per box.
Fresh and super sweet strawberrys for grabs along the way!
There was this stone garden when many different types and shapes of stone were found :

We'd lunch at this restaurant.  Guess what? it's Ginseng Chicken with glutinous rice!

We had our dinner at the nearby restaurant - BBQ!

This is rice cake purchased at one of the small stalls near our hotel.

A visit to the ginseng mart .............

It was an unforgetable trip with lots of nice food, nice place and nice weather (temp was around 20C).
Hope to go again but this time with my family!
